Destin’s Gulf coastline has a variety of depths, and artificial reefs to make it a haven for all kinds of fish. The Choctawhatchee Bay, which is 129 square miles in size, offers marshlands, backwater, and other areas for shallow water fishing. Destin features the widest variety of catches in the Florida Gulf with over twenty species of edible game fish. The most popular catches are Cobia, Redfish, Speckled Trout, Red Snapper and Grouper, and Bonita, Mahimahi and Sailfish in deeper waters. You can take your catch home and cook it up, or “hook and cook” at a local restaurant below.
